Head of Procurement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, execute, and manage Ashby’s procurement process from inception.

• Establish intelligent escalation pathways that involve IT, Legal, Security, Finance, and Founder review.

• Generate a comprehensive overview of vendor spending across the organization.

• Optimize and manage the current procurement tool.

• Assess alternative procurement tools upon renewal.

• Spearhead negotiations and contract structuring for significant and complex vendor partnerships.

• Provide business leaders with the necessary tools and guidelines to effectively manage vendor relationships.

• Collaborate with IT, Legal, Security, and Finance to create and oversee the escalation process.

• Function independently in shaping procurement strategies at Ashby.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience, primarily in procurement or vendor management within a high-growth technology setting.

• Proven experience in designing and launching procurement processes as an early owner.

• Systems-oriented approach to the design of procurement processes.

• Preference for speed and simplicity.

• Comfort with uncertainty and the ability to create playbooks independently.

• Skill in negotiating favorable terms while maintaining strong vendor relationships.

• Strong viewpoints based on principled reasoning.

• Familiarity with indirect/tech spending, including software, cloud services, and professional services.

• Capability to work efficiently as an individual contributor and as a sole team member.
