Public Sector Evaluation Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Assess completed AI-generated work products that reflect realistic tasks from the reviewer’s public-sector role.

• Analyze task instructions, supporting documentation, final deliverables, and evaluation outcomes.

• Evaluate whether outputs adhere to authentic government or institutional practices.

• Identify significant errors, omissions, unrealistic assumptions, and fabricated scenarios.

• Determine if the final products would be acceptable or usable in a professional environment.

• Review task requirements, constraints, anticipated outputs, procurement considerations, reporting, regulatory, and public-records factors.

• Check standards, regulations, figures, terminology, procedures, and operational assumptions for accuracy.

• Examine existing yes/no grading decisions against the completed work.

• Identify unsupported grading decisions and articulate agreement or disagreement with evaluations.

• Independently evaluate the overall quality of work products and assign an appropriate quality band.

• Compare professional judgment with reported scores and identify any discrepancies in scoring.

• Provide concise, clear written rationales for review decisions.

• Differentiate material issues from minor presentation flaws and support judgments with practical experience.

• Ensure consistency and meticulous attention to detail throughout each review.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years' experience in regulatory, licensing, or program compliance, or 5+ years in managing facilities, records, procurement, or general services, or 4+ years handling an independent social-work caseload, or 4+ years overseeing recreation/community programs, or 4+ years as a sworn law-enforcement supervisor.

• Required to be licensed according to your state regulations.

• Hold a sergeant rank or higher for police and law-enforcement supervision roles.

• Experience in writing findings, corrective actions, case plans, assessments, incident reviews, or similar professional documents.

• Practical professional experience in a public-sector environment.

• Experience working within a public agency or institution, where relevant.

• Familiarity with regulatory, administrative, procurement, reporting, public-records, mandated-reporting, safety, or public-recreation requirements, as applicable.

• Near-native proficiency in business English.

• Capability to provide succinct written explanations for professional judgments.

• Comfortable reviewing spreadsheets, PDFs, and other relevant professional documents.

• Able to verify numerical data and check for internal consistency.

• H1-B and STEM OPT support is not available for this position.

• Candidates with experience primarily in policy research without direct program administration may be less suited.

• Private-sector experience may not provide adequate exposure to public procurement, mandated reporting, or public-records requirements.

• Work must be performed without the use of confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, institution, or third party.
