This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
β’ Cultivate and sustain relationships with journalists in telecommunications, broadband, technology, and business sectors.
β’ Create tailored pitches to secure media coverage in both trade and tier-1 publications.
β’ Partner with the VP of Marketing to ensure external communications, product launches, and executive positioning align with the company's growth objectives.
β’ Compose press releases, media kits, summaries of white papers, executive Q&As, and briefing documents.
β’ Transform intricate telecom infrastructure concepts into engaging narratives.
β’ Act as the main point of contact for media inquiries.
β’ Evaluate media opportunities and prepare executives and technical experts for interviews and panel discussions.
β’ Assist with public relations and media engagement for industry trade shows, product announcements, and executive speaking engagements.
β’ Monitor media mentions and industry trends.
β’ Report on coverage metrics and return on investment to marketing leadership.
β’ Provide support for crisis and reputation management related to technical outages, emerging issues, and market changes.
β’ A bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, marketing, journalism, or a related discipline.
β’ 3β5 years of focused experience in public relations (either in-house or at an agency).
β’ At least 2 years of experience specifically in the telecommunications, broadband, networking, or technology infrastructure sectors.
β’ Demonstrated success in pitching and securing coverage in leading telecommunications and technology trade publications.
β’ Outstanding written, verbal, and AP Style editing abilities.
β’ Capability to distill complex technical subjects into clear and compelling narratives.
β’ Strong collaboration skills with product marketing, technical experts, and executive leadership.
β’ Familiarity with public relations databases and media intelligence tools like Cision, Muck Rack, and Meltwater.
β’ Knowledge of integrated marketing strategies, including SEO, digital PR, and account-based marketing (ABM).
β’ Experience in crisis communications or issues management within telecom or tech environments.
β’ Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
β’ Travel requirement of approximately 10%.
