This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Evaluate customer Terms and Conditions, collaborating with legal and commercial teams to assess acceptability and negotiation strategies.
• Gather input from stakeholders, execute cost roll-ups, and simulate strategies to facilitate decision-making for commercial and upper management.
• Assist in formulating pricing strategies that align with headquarters and business objectives while monitoring market trends.
• Report directly to the Commercial Operations Manager and collaborate with departmental and cross-functional teams.
• Oversee and coordinate the proposal development process from its inception to submission.
• Follow up on CRM market opportunities and tenders, organize Go/No Go reviews and Tender Kick-off meetings, and manage tender timelines effectively.
• Ensure timely delivery of stakeholder inputs for submission packages.
• Compile and synthesize information to produce accurate and persuasive proposal content.
• Ensure proposals meet client requirements, adhere to company standards, and comply with legal/regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain proposal templates, boilerplate content, branding guidelines, and a repository of previous proposals.
• Work in collaboration with subject matter experts on technical and commercial proposal sections.
• Review and edit proposals to ensure clarity, accuracy, consistency, tone, and format.
• Track deadlines and deliverables, including participation in Key Account Management reviews.
• Analyze proposal outcomes, conduct post-mortem analyses for unsuccessful tenders, and implement best practices.
• Review customer RFQ packages and compare Terms and Conditions against delegated mandates.
• Collaborate with Key Account Managers to comprehend customer needs and translate them into offers.
• Prepare tender review presentations that include financials, cost roll-ups, and price bridges.
• Support pricing and cost estimation efforts to ensure that bids align with financial goals.
• Create commercial statements.
• Participate in customer calls to assist the commercial team.
• Undertake additional duties outside the primary function or trade as required, with training provided.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Over 5 years of experience in tenders/bids, business development, and/or commercial responsibilities.
• Ideally, experience in the rail market and/or with OEM suppliers is preferred.
• A Master's degree in engineering or business administration is an advantage.
• Strong communication, impact and influencing capabilities, strategic thinking, self-motivation, negotiation skills, international experience, and a results-oriented mindset.
• Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management tools, such as Salesforce.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
