Property Claims Examiner III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Investigate, assess, and resolve property insurance claims.

• Adjust reserves and offer recommendations regarding reserve levels.

• Clearly and concisely input claim transactions.

• Review claims assessed by independent adjusters, investigate dubious claims, confirm coverage, and authorize payments.

• Perform daily diary reviews to ensure status letters are dispatched in line with Department of Insurance regulations.

• Approve and process claims within established authority limits.

• Oversee independent adjusters to ensure compliance with CFP IA Guidelines.

• Ensure adherence to Department of Insurance regulations and company policies and procedures.

• Draft accurate and complete correspondence, and gather any missing information from policyholders and other parties.

• Negotiate settlements that reflect insured losses while safeguarding the insurer from invalid claims.

• Collaborate with Claims Management and legal counsel on litigated claims.

• Manage all aspects of claims except for inspections or specific coverages like Personal Property or Fair Rental Value.

• Concentrate on claims exceeding $300,000 in damages, while also addressing smaller claims as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills are essential.

• Proficient experience with MS-Office (particularly Word and Excel) is required.

• Over 2 years of experience in property claims and outstanding customer service skills.

• Certification in CEA and Fair Claims Settlement Practices is necessary.

• A total of 5 years of claims experience is required.

• At least 2 years of experience handling homeowners (HO) claims exceeding $300,000.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience with an insurance carrier is required.
