This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Initiate investigations for new claims.
• Make decisions regarding liability and coverage.
• Assess and negotiate settlements for collision, specified perils, and property damage claims.
• Oversee and manage outside adjusters, appraisers, and experts.
• Establish communication with insured parties and claimants following established protocols.
• Identify coverage issues and escalate them to the supervisor as necessary.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of liability and coverage principles.
• Apply state-specific laws and claims regulations across the United States.
• Research market values for automobiles and heavy equipment, recommending total-loss settlement values using state valuation methods.
• Summarize claims and propose disposition for claims that exceed individual settlement authority.
• Respond to intercompany arbitration hearings and address department of insurance complaints.
• Manage a diary system to review and resolve claims in compliance with state guidelines.
• Maintain state license through continuous education and/or work toward a claims designation.
• Handle small claim lawsuits as required.
• Execute additional duties as assigned by the claims supervisor.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3-5 years of experience in Property Claims.
• Experience with Lloyd’s of London is considered an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with Xactimate is required.
• Ability to obtain licensure in necessary states and countries.
• AIC designation is preferred.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Strong writing abilities and proper use of grammar are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to plan and control time spent on activities effectively.
• Ability to multitask and manage a high volume of concurrent tasks.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues within and outside the organization.
• Continuing education coursework and/or progression toward a claims designation to maintain state licensure.
• Flexible remote working arrangement.
