This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Advocate for customer-focused values and provide an outstanding claims experience.
• Analyze insurance policy language, ascertain policy coverage, and determine suitable reserves for designated claims.
• Conduct investigations, negotiations, and settlements for homeowner and condominium property claims of medium to high complexity through phone and written communication.
• Examine and evaluate condominium-related documents, including declarations, bylaws, rules, reserve fund studies, corporate correspondence, and other governing materials.
• Determine ownership, maintenance, and repair obligations between unit owners and condominium associations.
• Investigate and assess damages involving common elements, exclusive-use common elements, and individual units.
• Interpret policy coverage alongside condominium governing documents to ensure precise claim decisions and settlements.
• Work in partnership with condominium associations, property managers, restoration vendors, legal representatives, and other stakeholders to promote effective claim resolutions.
• Take responsibility for customer issues and deliver timely solutions for complex claim scenarios.
• Manage a caseload typical of a Property Claims Advisor and efficiently handle competing priorities.
• Ensure thorough documentation of files that complies with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Resolve claims within personal authority while adhering to established escalation procedures for claims that exceed authority limits.
• Collaborate with Homeowner Adjusters, Claims Assistants, and other internal teams to meet business and customer goals.
• At least 1-2 years of experience as a Property Claims Advisor.
• Previous experience in insurance and knowledge of property claims management.
• Experience with condominium property claims is a significant advantage.
• Familiarity with condominium ownership structures, declarations, bylaws, and maintenance responsibilities.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to review documents, interpret complex condominium materials, and apply findings to claims decisions.
• Capability to assess responsibility and liability between condominium associations and unit owners.
• Excellent critical thinking skills, capable of identifying strengths, weaknesses, and potential risks in a claim.
• Outstanding communication, negotiation, and customer service abilities.
• Strong organizational skills to handle multiple files in a dynamic environment.
• Bilingual proficiency (English/French) is considered a plus.
