Property Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Execute month-end closing procedures, which include the preparation of journal entries and accruals for monthly financial reports.

• Prepare bank reconciliations and maintain monthly balance sheet documentation.

• Adhere to deadlines for accounting and financial statement distribution.

• Generate monthly management fee billing and reimbursement details for owner payments.

• Review and authorize Accounts Payable invoices to ensure accurate coding.

• Keep cash logs updated with daily transactions and oversee cash balance monitoring.

• Collaborate with building management and owner representatives on financial and operational matters.

• Support annual escalation and settlement billings for CAM, RET, and other relevant additional charges.

• Oversee key financial elements of the property, including real estate tax payments.

• Undertake additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience/education.

• 1-2 years of prior accounting experience.

• Required experience in the real estate sector.

• Proficient knowledge and experience with Yardi accounting software.

• Strong oral and written communication abilities.

• Exceptional qualitative and analytical skills.

• Previous work history reflecting the capacity to produce precise work in a detailed and organized manner.

• Highly skilled in Microsoft software applications.

• Strong organizational capabilities with the ability to work effectively and independently.

• Willingness to work in various locations as needed.
