This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee the planning and execution of a regional portfolio comprising public and private land and right-of-way projects within LandSolutions’ service areas.
• Define and manage project scopes, budgets, timelines, milestones, resource needs, and delivery priorities.
• Evaluate project contracts and client specifications, managing any scope changes, change orders, and other contractual issues.
• Track portfolio performance, risks, deliverables, and emerging challenges, taking corrective actions and escalating significant concerns as necessary.
• Oversee the financial performance of projects, including revenue, margins, forecasting, work in progress, billing, and resource utilization.
• Ensure that project documentation, reporting, quality assessments, invoicing, and closeout requirements are completed accurately and punctually.
• Provide strategic guidance on land acquisition strategies, stakeholder engagement, and relevant regulatory processes.
• Lead and facilitate complex negotiations related to easements, rights-of-way, access agreements, land purchases, damages, and other property interests.
• Address intricate landowner and stakeholder issues with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
• Offer technical expertise and practical, field-oriented solutions to project teams.
• Ensure compliance of land activities and documentation with applicable laws, regulations, contractual obligations, client standards, and established procedures.
• Engage with legal, regulatory, environmental, survey, Indigenous relations, and other subject-matter experts as necessary.
• Act as the primary contact for designated clients, fostering trusted relationships through consistent communication, sound advice, issue resolution, and reliable project delivery.
• Comprehend client objectives and ensure project delivery aligns with agreed-upon expectations and commercial requirements.
• Identify opportunities to maintain and grow client relationships, leading or supporting proposals, scopes, pricing, presentations, and project planning.
• Cultivate relationships with clients, landowners, Indigenous communities and rights holders, regulatory entities, municipalities, project partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Direct regional workforce and capacity planning, including staffing forecasts, resource allocation, recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts.
• Mentor, coach, and develop project and regional staff by establishing clear expectations, managing performance, and encouraging professional growth.
• Monitor workloads, assignments, and resource utilization to ensure effective delivery and employee well-being.
• Collaborate with regional and functional leaders to share resources, enhance processes, and promote consistent practices across LandSolutions.
• Provide senior leadership with regular updates on project, financial, staffing, client, and operational performance.
• Adhere to company policies, safety protocols, quality standards, and professional and ethical expectations.
• Postsecondary education in land administration, business, project management, planning, legal studies, environmental studies, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in executing land acquisition, right-of-way, or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in managing complex projects that involve multiple stakeholders, jurisdictions, workstreams, and deadlines.
• Strong understanding of land acquisition practices, property rights, negotiation procedures, and relevant regulatory guidelines.
• Experience in managing project scope, timelines, budgets, financial performance, resources, risks, and client reporting.
• Proven capability to lead and develop geographically dispersed or field-based teams.
• Excellent client relationship management, communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment in addressing sensitive or complex issues.
• Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-oriented environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant project management, financial, and land administration software.
• Project management or relevant land industry certification is considered an advantage.
• A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
