Project Manager – Major Correctives

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee assigned Major Component Upgrade and Blade projects from initiation to completion.

• Take responsibility for safety, quality, schedule adherence, cost management, customer satisfaction, and compliance with contractual obligations.

• Act as the main point of contact between customers, field execution teams, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

• Promote a safety culture and lead by example.

• Manage project EHS performance, ensure corrective actions are completed, uphold safety standards, meet customer requirements, and comply with regulations.

• Ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws and assist with the accuracy of certified payroll.

• Keep project documentation ready for audits.

• Maintain quality documentation, inspection records, manage punch lists, and secure final customer approval.

• Lead activities focused on lessons learned and continuous improvement.

• Create detailed execution plans and facilitate project kickoff meetings.

• Track progress and handle risks, issues, and recovery strategies.

• Conduct daily, weekly, and milestone-driven project reviews.

• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.

• Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, cost controls, and accountability for profitability.

• Monitor costs related to labor, equipment, cranes, subcontractors, travel, and materials.

• Manage invoicing processes, change orders, and opportunities for cost recovery.

• Lead customer status meetings and provide updates on project execution.

• Handle customer expectations, concerns, escalations, and recovery planning.

• Coordinate with subcontractors, crane providers, logistics vendors, and equipment suppliers.

• Ensure contractor compliance and assist with onboarding and performance evaluations.

• Coordinate staffing, equipment availability, site mobilization, tooling, crane planning, logistics, outage planning, and tracking customer availability.

• Verify project readiness prior to field execution.

• Lead with a focus on safety, cultivate future project leaders, encourage continuous improvement, make prompt decisions, foster teamwork, and represent the Major Correctives organization with professionalism.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered.

• At least 2 years of experience in wind energy, industrial construction, heavy lift operations, field services, or similar industries.

• Proven experience managing Major Component Upgrades, Blade projects, or comparable large-scale field operations.

• Familiarity with crane operations, lift planning, rigging practices, and site logistics.

• Experience in projects that involve prevailing wage environments.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.

• Capability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic operational setting.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Smartsheet, and project management software.

• PMP certification or equivalent project management training is preferred.

• Experience with major component exchanges in wind turbines is a plus.

• Experience with blade repair or replacement projects is preferred.

• Understanding of labor compliance and certified payroll processes is advantageous.

• Experience in managing subcontracted workforces is preferred.

• Training in Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.

• Direct experience working with utility-scale renewable energy clients is preferred.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.
