Project Manager – Major Correctives

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee Major Component Upgrade and Blade projects from the planning phase through to completion.

• Take responsibility for safety, quality, timelines, costs, client satisfaction, and adherence to contracts.

• Act as the main point of contact for customers, field execution teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal parties.

• Promote a culture of safety and lead efforts in project EHS performance and the resolution of corrective actions.

• Ensure alignment with GE Vernova standards, customer specifications, regulatory requirements, prevailing wage laws, and certified payroll processes.

• Keep project documentation audit-ready and manage quality records, inspection logs, punch lists, and final customer acceptance.

• Lead initiatives for lessons learned and ongoing improvement.

• Create execution strategies, conduct kickoff meetings, track progress, and manage risks, issues, and recovery plans.

• Facilitate daily, weekly, and milestone-based project evaluations.

• Create and manage budgets, forecasts, cost controls, and profitability accountability.

• Monitor costs related to labor, equipment, cranes, subcontractors, travel, and materials.

• Handle invoicing support, change orders, and opportunities for cost recovery.

• Conduct customer status meetings, provide updates on execution, manage expectations, and address concerns.

• Coordinate subcontractors, crane services, logistics providers, and equipment suppliers.

• Collaborate with scheduling and resource management teams regarding staffing and equipment availability.

• Organize site mobilization, tooling, crane planning, logistics, outage planning, and tracking customer availability.

• Ensure readiness for projects before field execution begins.

• Mentor future project leaders and encourage collaboration across functions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or a related field; relevant field experience is also acceptable.

• At least 2 years of experience in wind energy, industrial construction, heavy lift operations, field services, or comparable sectors.

• Proven experience managing Major Component Upgrades, Blade projects, or other significant field operations.

• Familiarity with crane operations, lift planning, rigging techniques, and site logistics.

• Experience with projects governed by prevailing wage regulations.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.

• Capacity to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational setting.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Smartsheet, and project management software.

• PMP certification or equivalent project management training is preferred.

• Experience with major component exchanges in wind turbines is a plus.

• Background in blade repair or replacement projects is preferred.

• Understanding of labor compliance and certified payroll processes is advantageous.

• Experience managing subcontracted workforces is preferred.

• Training in Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methods is desirable.

• Experience working directly with utility-scale renewable energy clients is a plus.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening may be required.
