Project Manager – Major Correctives

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee assigned Major Component Upgrade and Blade projects from the planning stage to final closeout.

• Take responsibility for safety, quality, schedule adherence, cost management, customer satisfaction, and compliance with contractual obligations.

• Promote a culture of safety and lead by example.

• Manage project EHS performance, ensure the closure of corrective actions, and adhere to GE Vernova standards, customer requirements, and regulations.

• Ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws and assist in the accuracy of certified payroll.

• Keep project documentation prepared for audits.

• Manage quality documentation, inspection records, punch list items, and final acceptance from customers.

• Lead activities focused on lessons learned and continuous improvement.

• Create detailed execution plans and facilitate project kickoff meetings.

• Track progress and manage risks, issues, and recovery strategies.

• Conduct daily, weekly, and milestone-specific project reviews.

• Develop and oversee project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.

• Monitor costs related to labor, equipment, cranes, subcontractors, travel, and materials.

• Manage invoicing support, change orders, and opportunities for cost recovery.

• Ensure project profitability and maintain forecast accuracy.

• Act as the primary representative for customers.

• Lead customer status meetings and provide updates on execution.

• Manage customer expectations, escalations, and planning for recovery.

• Coordinate with subcontractors, crane providers, logistics vendors, and equipment suppliers.

• Monitor performance and compliance of vendors and contractors.

• Support the onboarding of contractors and conduct performance evaluations.

• Coordinate staffing, equipment availability, site mobilization, tooling, crane planning, logistics, outage planning, and tracking of customer availability.

• Ensure project readiness prior to field execution.

• Cultivate future project leaders and encourage cross-functional collaboration.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or a related field; equivalent experience in the field will be considered.

• At least 2 years of experience in wind energy, industrial construction, heavy lift operations, field services, or related sectors.

• Experience in managing Major Component Upgrades, Blade projects, or similar large-scale field operations.

• Working knowledge of crane operations, lift planning, rigging practices, and site logistics.

• Experience in supporting projects within prevailing wage environments.

• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.

• Capability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational setting.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Smartsheet, and project management tools.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.

• PMP certification or equivalent project management training is preferred.

• Experience with major component exchanges in wind turbines is preferred.

• Preferred experience in blade repair or replacement projects.

• Knowledge of labor compliance and certified payroll processes is preferred.

• Experience in managing subcontracted workforces is preferred.

• Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement training is preferred.

• Preferred experience working directly with utility-scale renewable energy customers.
