Project Manager – Facility Condition Assessments, Capital Planning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead Facility Condition Assessments (FCA), asset management, and capital planning initiatives for Municipal, University, School District, and Healthcare clients.

• Oversee the delivery of projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring that scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations are met.

• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams tasked with facility assessments, asset inventories, capital planning analyses, data management, reporting, and software implementation.

• Manage multiple FCA and capital planning projects concurrently.

• Develop project work plans, schedules, budgets, and staffing strategies.

• Conduct kickoff meetings and maintain ongoing communications with clients.

• Monitor project progress and adherence to contractual obligations.

• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

• Oversee project financial performance, including labor budgets, invoicing support, and change management processes.

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients and nurture client relationships.

• Facilitate project meetings, workshops, and executive presentations.

• Assist in business development through client engagement and proposal creation.

• Direct facility condition assessments of buildings, infrastructure, and site assets.

• Supervise assessment methodologies, quality assurance, and data collection standards.

• Review facility condition indices, renewal forecasts, and recommendations for capital planning.

• Manage data collection, validation, and integration into capital planning systems.

• Guide both short-term and long-term capital improvement strategies.

• Support lifecycle modeling, asset renewal forecasting, and funding scenario analyses.

• Coordinate the implementation and utilization of asset management software such as AssetPlanner.

• Lead multidisciplinary teams comprising assessors, engineers, architects, and data analysts.

• Delegate tasks, manage workloads, mentor junior team members, and foster professional development.

• Coordinate with subcontractors and specialty consultants.

• Ensure that deliverables align with company standards and meet client expectations.

• Conduct quality reviews and confirm that project documentation is complete, accurate, and defensible.

• Promote continuous improvement of assessment methodologies and project delivery processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Facilities Management, Asset Management, or a related discipline.

• At least 5 years of project management experience in facility assessments, capital planning, asset management, engineering consulting, or similar fields.

• Proven experience managing client-facing projects.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

• Experience collaborating with K-12, higher education, healthcare, municipal, or public-sector clients.

• Strong understanding of building systems, facility infrastructure, deferred maintenance, and capital renewal planning.

• Experience in developing and managing project schedules and budgets.

• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and project management tools.

• Knowledge of FCA methodologies, FCI calculations, and lifecycle modeling practices.

• Familiarity with asset management and capital planning software platforms.

• Knowledge of CMMS, GIS, and facility data management systems.

• Professional Engineering (PE), Registered Architect (RA), Certified Facility Manager (CFM), or a similar professional credential.
