Project Manager – Cybersecurity, Compliance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring accountability for all deliverables and contractual obligations.

• Initiate project launches and create, disseminate, and uphold the Master Project Plan.

• Oversee collaboration among multiple agencies for system access requests, testing timelines, stakeholder communications, and deployment efforts.

• Manage the entire deliverable acceptance process, which includes evidence packages, tracking submissions, and maintaining formal approval records.

• Keep risk and issue logs updated and escalate any scheduling discrepancies before they impact critical milestones.

• Generate daily, biweekly, and monthly progress reports along with executive dashboards.

• Conduct lessons learned sessions and facilitate structured knowledge transfer to government staff.

• Uphold confidentiality, manage evidence handling, ensure records retention, and comply with public records regulations.

• Administer change control processes and ensure that work continues only with the necessary written consent from clients.

• Oversee schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction in accordance with a deliverable-based contract.

• Coordinate cybersecurity and compliance initiatives across as many as 30 participating agencies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Applicants must be residents of the state of Florida.

• 8+ years of experience in managing complex cybersecurity, IT audit, compliance, or cyber risk projects.

• At least 3 years of experience leading multi-agency, multi-stakeholder, or enterprise-wide initiatives.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience delivering services in a governmental context at the state, local, or federal level.

• Proven experience in executing firm fixed-price or deliverable-based contracts that require formal client acceptance criteria.

• Experience managing programs involving 20 or more distinct client organizations or business units.

• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is mandatory.

• Experience managing large-scale cybersecurity assessments, independent evaluations, IT audits, or compliance validation projects.

• Comprehensive understanding of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, IIA Global Internal Audit Standards, and GAO Yellow Book.

• Familiarity with Agreed Upon Procedures engagements or similar factual findings reporting methodologies.

• Experience in directing vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, adversary emulation, control validation, and risk-based testing initiatives.

• Expertise in establishing project governance frameworks, communication strategies, risk management logs, resource allocation plans, and executive reporting packages.

• Experience in managing evidence collection, documentation reviews, confidentiality standards, and secure handling of sensitive government information.

• Proficient in Microsoft Project, Jira, ServiceNow, ClickUp, Confluence, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365 collaboration tools.

• Capability to coordinate access requests, testing schedules, and communications across multiple independent client entities simultaneously.

• Experience delivering audit-quality outputs, including memoranda, testing methodologies, compliance matrices, and executive presentations.

• Ability to facilitate lessons learned sessions and conduct formal knowledge transfers to government personnel.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future employer sponsorship.
