Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the entire lifecycle of application and systems projects, from initial intake to customer delivery, utilizing the SAFe DevSecOps framework.

• Direct Agile Scrum teams, products, and processes throughout the entire project lifecycle.

• Collaborate with technical leads to facilitate CI/CD pipelines, application delivery, and initiatives aimed at infrastructure modernization.

• Create and manage project schedules, budgets, performance metrics, and delivery milestones using Agile project management methodologies and tools.

• Monitor and report on project milestones, risks, dependencies, impediments, and escalation needs to program leadership and stakeholders.

• Articulate project vision, strategy, roadmaps, and planned deliveries to VA leadership and governance committees.

• Synchronize priorities, dependencies, and implementation strategies across the broader portfolio.

• Assist with additional team objectives and project success as required.

• Work collaboratively with technical leads, development teams, VA leadership, stakeholders, and governance groups in a cross-functional Agile setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or a related technical field.

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in managing IT projects.

• Significant experience overseeing complex, large-scale IT projects throughout the complete application or systems development lifecycle.

• Proven experience leading Agile Scrum teams and implementing lifecycle and project management methodologies in software development contexts.

• Demonstrated capability to track and manage project costs, timelines, performance, risks, dependencies, and delivery progress.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convert technical project activities into executive-level reports, correspondence, and presentations.

• Strong leadership, collaboration, problem-solving, and risk management abilities.

• Capacity to guide cross-functional teams and function effectively in high-pressure environments.

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

• All selected candidates must successfully pass a background check.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including required fingerprinting, when necessary for the role.

• PMP, SAFe, Scrum, or other relevant project management or Agile certifications are preferred.

• Prior IT project management experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs or another federal government agency is a plus.

• Previous experience in strategic management or management consulting is advantageous.

• Must reside within the continental United States.
