Project Engineering Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the comprehensive technical execution of large-scale, intricate customer projects as the primary technical liaison.

• Oversee engineering coordination across various project work packages.

• Supervise engineering efforts related to HVDC and FACTS solutions.

• Conduct technical reviews and facilitate informed technical decision-making.

• Coordinate cross-functional teams in areas such as plant configuration, civil works, control and protection hardware, and electrical design.

• Recognize technical risks and opportunities while driving the implementation of mitigation strategies.

• Manage technical interfaces with subcontractors and ensure the integration of their outputs.

• Guarantee document control, configuration management, and EHS compliance.

• Lead the ROE and lessons-learned initiatives to enhance future project execution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive engineering experience within an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) environment focused on power generation, transmission, or distribution.

• Strong expertise in HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current), including technical leadership in large-scale transmission or grid infrastructure initiatives.

• Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multidisciplinary engineering project teams and coordinate efforts across internal functions, customers, and external partners.

• In-depth technical knowledge encompassing plant configuration, civil works, control and protection hardware, and electrical design.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex technical subjects to customers and internal stakeholders.

• Strong judgment and structured problem-solving capabilities.

• Adaptable to diverse cultures and open to global travel for short- to medium-term project requirements.

• A formal education, with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, is desirable.

• Preferred: experience in leading engineering delivery for international grid, transmission, or energy infrastructure projects.

• Preferred: familiarity with customer-facing technical leadership in highly regulated, contract-driven project settings.

• Preferred: experience utilizing lessons learned and practices for continuous improvement.
