Project Director, Dermatology – Rheumatology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Manage a portfolio or program of clinical study projects along with the Project Managers assigned to them.

• Ensure that studies align with therapeutic-area or client-specific requirements.

• Act as the company representative to clients and maintain high levels of satisfaction.

• Effectively communicate program deliverables.

• Ensure that studies comply with quality standards, SOPs, GCPs, regulatory requirements, and ICH guidelines.

• Oversee executed contracts and the financial aspects of projects, including budgets and expenses.

• Monitor and assess project progress, timelines, and tracking/analysis tools.

• Maintain therapeutic-area and client-specific knowledge for the designated portfolio.

• Apply lessons learned from studies across assigned projects and clients.

• Lead the planning for contingencies and strategies for risk mitigation.

• Provide operational insights for proposal development, pricing, and operational strategy.

• Drive performance enhancements, operational efficiencies, and innovative approaches.

• Offer line-management oversight and contribute to Project Management leadership as an operational and therapeutic-area expert.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in a relevant field.

• PMP or PRINCE2 Certification is advantageous.

• At least 15 years of industry experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a CRO.

• A minimum of 10 years of clinical project management experience, encompassing management of all project phases from start-up to closure, all functional services, and vendor management.

• Required experience in dermatology or rheumatology trials.

• Desirable experience with mid-size and large studies (involving over 10-15 countries) across multiple regions.

• Proven experience leading concurrent multicentered, multinational Phase III clinical trials, including project budget tracking and forecasting.

• Significant experience in project supervision, mentoring, and coaching project managers.

• Extensive experience with business development tasks, including proposals, client presentations, and bid defense meetings.

• Strong knowledge of Good Clinical Practices and relevant Health Canada and FDA regulations/guidelines.

• Must possess legal eligibility to work in North America.
