This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland, +1 more state.
• Identify, analyze, and obtain new energy opportunities, including data centres, BESS, wind, rooftop, carport, and ground-mounted installations.
• Oversee the local commercial network to enhance site acquisitions and project development.
• Collaborate with Finance, GIS, and engineering teams to evaluate feasibility and enhance project design.
• Supervise solar project permitting from the initial phase through to construction readiness, ensuring compliance with regulations and grid connections.
• Structure Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and other financial models in partnership with Finance and clients.
• Lead acquisitions from opportunity identification through to transaction completion and transition to project development and delivery teams.
• Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, landowners, industrial clients, service providers, and regional administrations.
• Source and secure late-stage and Ready-to-Build renewable energy projects.
• Lead commercial negotiations and manage due diligence for acquisitions.
• Conduct technical, environmental, and regulatory feasibility assessments utilizing cartographic studies and data analysis.
• Secure land or lease agreements for chosen sites.
• Oversee project development from site selection to permitting and pre-construction phases.
• Prepare tender response documents and manage pre-construction activities, risk assessments, procurement tender preparation, and EPC contract negotiations.
• Draft and review technical and commercial contract appendices and project agreements.
• Report to the Head of Projects.
• Bachelor's degree in power, renewable energy, agronomy, environmental studies, or project management.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in a development role with a proven track record in project development.
• Strong background in project and business development within the renewables and power sector.
• Demonstrated success in identifying and securing projects throughout the Island of Ireland.
• Established local stakeholder network, including authorities, landowners, industrial clients, service providers, and regional administrations.
• Ability to identify and implement prospecting techniques and strategies for renewable energy opportunities.
• Experience in structuring Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and responding to tenders.
• Proven experience in sourcing and securing late-stage and Ready-to-Build renewable energy projects.
• Experience leading commercial negotiations, including NDAs, NBOs, LOIs, Exclusivity Agreements, and acquisition terms.
• Ability to assess opportunities, coordinate due diligence, and assist in investment decisions.
• Experience with cartographic studies and data analysis.
• Experience conducting technical, environmental, and regulatory feasibility studies.
• Proven experience in securing land or lease agreements.
• Experience managing project development from site selection through permitting and pre-construction.
• Experience in preparing permitting applications and collaborating with planners, consultants, legal experts, authorities, grid operators, and suppliers.
• Experience overseeing pre-construction tasks, risk assessments, procurement tender preparation, and EPC contract negotiations.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Excellent analytical skills, adaptability, efficiency, organization, autonomy, and capacity to manage multiple projects.
• Knowledge of the Irish renewable sector and local authorities or administrations in Ireland and Northern Ireland is an advantage.
• Valid driver's license held for over 1 year; travel is required.
