Project Controls Manager – Primavera P6 Scheduler

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mississippi.

📋 Description

• Design comprehensive Primavera P6 project schedules for MEP construction initiatives, incorporating baseline, recovery, bidding, look-ahead, and executive summary schedules.

• Create Work Breakdown Structures, activity coding, calendars, sequencing logic, resource assumptions, and schedule templates tailored for MEP and specialty trade scopes.

• Develop CPM schedules that encompass design coordination, submittals, procurement, fabrication, equipment delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, owner acceptance, and project closeout.

• Collaborate on schedule development with project managers, estimators, purchasing, BIM/VDC teams, prefabrication, field leadership, subcontractors, and vendors.

• Design and oversee the Primavera P6 schedule for the related fabrication shop.

• Maintain and revise project schedules utilizing field progress data, manpower reports, procurement status, production tracking, and input from project managers.

• Recognize schedule risks, logic gaps, critical path impacts, float erosion, manpower constraints, procurement delays, and conflicts in trade coordination.

• Generate schedule variance reports, critical path analyses, recovery plans, what-if scenarios, milestone reports, S-curves, manpower curves, and progress dashboards.

• Assist with change order evaluations, delay documentation, time impact assessments, claims support, and schedule-related contract compliance.

• Collaborate with the Director of Operations to standardize project control procedures, reporting frequency, schedule quality standards, and operational performance metrics.

• Educate and support project teams on scheduling discipline, update procedures, progress measurement, and best practices for Primavera P6.

• Report directly to the Director of Operations, serving operations leadership, project managers, field supervision, and executive stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in project controls, construction scheduling, or planning, ideally within commercial, industrial, institutional, healthcare, data center, manufacturing, or complex MEP construction environments.

• Advanced expertise in Oracle Primavera P6, including schedule creation from the ground up, logic development, baselining, updating, reporting, activity coding, resource loading, and schedule analysis.

• Solid understanding of MEP construction methods and practices, trade sequencing, procurement cycles, submittal processes, prefabrication, commissioning, and closeout criteria.

• Capability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, RFI logs, change documents, and contractual scheduling requirements.

• Working knowledge of Critical Path Method scheduling, earned value principles, productivity tracking, cost-loaded or resource-loaded schedules, and schedule risk mitigation strategies.

• Strong analytical, communication, and presentation abilities.

• Exceptional attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage scheduling demands across multiple active projects.

• Equivalent field and project controls experience may substitute for the preferred bachelor's degree.

• Experience working with multi-trade MEP contractors, self-performing construction operations, or large-scale specialty subcontracting organizations.

• Familiarity with Procore, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Bluebeam, BIM/VDC coordination tools, ERP systems, or other project management software.

• Primavera P6 certification, AACE Planning and Scheduling Professional certification, PMI-SP, PMP, or a similar credential.

• Experience in developing company-wide project controls standards, schedule templates, reporting dashboards, and operational KPIs.
