Program Officer, Grants

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee the administration of program grants and applications via Survey Monkey Apply (SM Apply)

• Assist national program managers in executing program development plans

• Create communication materials for programs and promote initiatives to stakeholders

• Assess program effectiveness and implement strategies for improvement

• Collaborate with the finance team on grant disbursement and ensure compliance with granting and evaluation frameworks

• Work alongside vendors and consultants on legal agreements, safe food handling guidelines, and evaluation processes

• Track contractual obligations with donors and grantees

• Submit reporting data and assist in the development of donor reports

• Prepare program reports for staff, the network, and program partners

• Present updates and outcomes of grants to staff and senior management

• Manage timelines associated with the national granting program

• Coordinate internal working groups and grant review committees

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with food banks, provincial associations, and program partners

• Provide training through webinars on online grant opportunities, processes, and procedures

• Fulfill additional duties as required

⛳️ Requirements

• Possession of an undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in program management within a non-profit environment

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

• Familiarity with grant software and database systems is a plus

• Experience in developing and implementing granting programs funded by the Government of Canada is advantageous

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities

• Knowledge and experience in donor reporting

• Strong budgeting skills coupled with some financial insight

• Excellent analytical capabilities, problem-solving skills, and experience in customer service and relationship building

• Initiative and the ability to operate with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

• Bilingualism in English and French is an asset
