This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct research on laws, regulations, contract stipulations, standards, and contemporary practices pertinent to assigned policies.
• Create and update policies, procedures, governance documents, implementation guidance, and decision-making materials.
• Consult with subject-matter experts and stakeholders to confirm operational realities, risks, dependencies, and ownership.
• Resolve conflicting feedback, maintain decision logs, and facilitate the review and approval process.
• Utilize templates, plain-language principles, accessibility standards, version control, metadata, and records management requirements.
• Oversee policy inventories, review schedules, cross-references, change summaries, and authoritative repositories.
• Collaborate with technical, program, and customer teams.
• Take ownership of complex tasks and assist in achieving customer outcomes.
• A bachelor's degree in public policy, business, communications, English, technical writing, or a similar field, or equivalent directly relevant experience.
• A minimum of four years of experience in policy, procedure, technical, regulatory, program, or governance writing.
• Proven ability to research requirements, interview subject-matter experts, reconcile feedback, and produce clear, controlled documents.
• Strong skills in editing, organization, plain-language communication, and stakeholder management.
• Employment is contingent upon required background screening.
• Certain assignments may necessitate the ability to obtain and retain a public trust determination or security clearance.
• Preferred: Experience in supporting federal, defense, government contracting, cybersecurity, quality, or regulated programs.
• Preferred: Familiarity with NIST, DoD, ISO, CMMI, records management, or policy governance frameworks.
• Preferred: Experience in developing policy libraries, approval workflows, or implementation plans.
• The ability to work remotely from anywhere within the United States.
• Occasional travel or work outside of standard hours may be necessary based on customer and program requirements.
