This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Observe, analyze, and document processes, procedures, and tools within the department.
• Comprehend the department's purpose and mission to establish success metrics and collect baseline data.
• Identify enhancements to processes and products that improve efficiency or user experience.
• Determine KPIs, create measurement capabilities, and assess the success of product initiatives against benchmarks.
• Formulate a high-level vision for technology transformation and process enhancements.
• Collaborate with business units to develop prioritized roadmaps for technology and process advancements.
• Perform build-versus-buy assessments for tools.
• Create and document requirements for new products and tools.
• Conduct market research to identify products and vendors, collaborating with legal and compliance to onboard partners.
• Work alongside existing product teams or form new teams to develop tools and products.
• Document new processes and collaborate with business units on adoption and continuous improvement.
• Establish credibility and partnerships with various business units.
• Formulate adoption strategies and manage transformation and adoption results.
• Advise business unit and DMI leadership on team skills and organizational structures.
• Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, strategy, or UX research roles.
• Experience with product discovery research methodologies.
• Background in technology transformation and modernization efforts.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity effectively.
• Skill in identifying unarticulated user pain points and problems.
• Proven experience in recognizing user needs and implementing measurable solutions.
• Demonstrated capability in identifying metrics and establishing processes to effectively measure success.
• Proficient in creating documentation and infographics that clarify issues and illustrate solutions for stakeholders with varying levels of technological understanding.
• Willingness to drive strategy from high-level vision through to implementation and adoption.
• Comfortable communicating with senior leadership as well as individual users.
• Preferred: Experience in highly regulated sectors, particularly in financial services or mortgages.
• Preferred: Familiarity with accounting or financial systems, or consumer financial services.
• Preferred: Experience with ethnographic user research and/or service design.
• Preferred: Experience in established organizations with long-term employees.
• Must successfully complete annual regulatory compliance training.
• Comfortable working in either an on-site office environment or a designated quiet work-from-home space.
• Capable of communicating and exchanging accurate information through various communication methods.
• Able to remain stationary and/or move throughout the organization or remote office; frequently stand, walk, sit, type, write, handle, feel, and reach; occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or lift/move up to 25 lbs.
• Proficient in using computers and standard office equipment for extended periods.
