This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and enhance systems for production recommendations and rankings.
• Create personalization models that cater to various stages of the eCommerce customer journey.
• Engage in candidate generation, retrieval, ranking, and re-ranking methodologies.
• Design customized product feeds, carousels, content sequencing, and next-best-action scenarios.
• Contribute to forecasting use cases related to customer behavior, demand, and product levels.
• Integrate recommendation systems with search functionalities and conversational shopping experiences.
• Establish and monitor both offline ML metrics and online product metrics.
• Design and implement experiments and A/B tests to validate product hypotheses.
• Construct scalable inference services and ML APIs.
• Enhance feature pipelines, training workflows, monitoring systems, and internal ML tools.
• Collaborate with Data Platform and backend teams to ensure the accessibility of behavioral and transactional data.
• Engage in architectural discussions and participate in technical decision-making processes.
• Assist Product teams in transforming business challenges into quantifiable ML problems.
• Influence the roadmap, architecture, tools, experimentation strategies, data needs, and overall direction of recommendation systems.
• Over 5 years of experience in production ML / Machine Learning Engineering.
• Extensive commercial experience with recommendation systems.
• Proficient in Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with ranking, retrieval, candidate generation, collaborative filtering, embeddings, learning-to-rank, or similar recommendation techniques.
• Experience in building and maintaining production ML systems.
• Knowledge of offline ML metrics and online product/business metrics.
• Proficient in A/B testing and experimentation methodologies.
• Strong grasp of the complete ML lifecycle, including experimentation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
• Experience in developing APIs or production inference services.
• Good understanding of data pipelines along with behavioral or transactional data.
• Familiarity with MLOps, CI/CD, observability, and ensuring production reliability.
• Solid foundations in software engineering principles.
• Proven experience in making technical decisions and owning solutions.
• Ability to operate independently within ambiguous settings.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
• Ability to work directly with Product teams to clarify requirements, challenge assumptions, and develop solutions.
• English proficiency assessment is part of the hiring process.
• Capability to work as a contractor or under a B2B contractor arrangement.
