Product Manager, Optimizer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Interact with customers to identify opportunities for enhancing K12 school schedules.

• Explore optimizer technology and the scheduling sector to assist Engineering in making critical decisions.

• Collaborate with Engineering to enhance the core algorithms of the optimizer, model-builders, and orchestration pipeline.

• Design and implement experiments to test changes in the optimizer.

• Establish performance and quality metrics such as feasibility rates, schedule quality scores, solve time, and constraint violations.

• Develop product requirements for the optimizer and refine new features.

• Work alongside Engineering and AI agents to translate requirements into clearly defined stories.

• Utilize AI to connect requirements, story definitions, and development workflows.

• Create and execute a vision for generative AI in algorithmic schedule optimization.

• Oversee the complete experience for school schedulers engaging with the optimizer.

• Convey results, trade-offs, and any infeasible or sub-optimal solutions.

• Lead goal- and metric-setting processes in collaboration with Engineering.

• Establish and modify milestones, uphold standards, and keep the team focused on impactful outcomes.

• Communicate product and technology decisions to both internal and external stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in B2B SaaS product organizations.

• At least 3 years of experience as a Product Manager.

• Proven experience working on products that involve algorithmic, decision-support, or operations research components.

• Strong abilities in data analysis and metric design.

• Capability to design experiments and analyze their outcomes.

• Proficient in user-centric story writing.

• Mastery of agile tools such as Jira, Notion, and Miro.

• Demonstrated experience with AI-enabled SDLC practices.

• Collaborative, detail-oriented problem solver.

• Strong visual communication skills using mockups, sketches, diagrams, or journey maps.

• Nice-to-have: background in EdTech and/or the education sector.

• Nice-to-have: experience with optimization, decision-support systems, constraint satisfaction, or algorithmic products.

• Nice-to-have: familiarity with A/B testing or experimentation frameworks.

• Nice-to-have: background in operations research or a technical discipline.

• Must clarify whether sponsorship for work authorization in the United States will be necessary.
