This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.
• Define and lead new product initiatives while overseeing a portfolio of existing products within Alpaca Derivatives, the company's regulated FCM.
• Develop and implement the roadmap for features related to futures and prediction markets.
• Collaborate with internal management and various business stakeholders throughout Alpaca.
• Formulate product strategies for the launch and expansion of Alpaca's FCM, including the introduction of listed futures and prediction markets to the platform.
• Take ownership of derivatives products, with an emphasis on listed futures and prediction markets.
• Evaluate ROI, competitive market conditions, regulatory requirements, and build-vs-buy assessments across different venues, clearing, and execution.
• Contribute to the product roadmap and strategy, focusing on readiness for FCM launch, features compliant with CFTC/NFA, and partner demand.
• Draft product requirements and collaborate with engineers to execute builds that align with regulatory, exchange, and clearing standards.
• Lead discussions with customers and partners concerning derivatives processes and product-related issues.
• Engage with the CFTC, NFA, exchanges, and clearing organizations.
• Provide updates on product status and results to internal and external stakeholders, including regional partners and institutional clients.
• Enhance operational efficiency in derivatives and manage metrics related to margin, clearing, settlement, and trading-risk workflows.
• Work alongside operations, risk, and compliance teams to integrate Alpaca's platform with FCM market infrastructure.
• Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned.
• In-depth knowledge of CFTC and NFA frameworks, FCM market structure, and the landscape of listed derivatives.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, finance, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of experience in Product Management, Engineering, Consulting, or launching a startup, preferably in financial services, fintech, or derivatives.
• Proven interest and experience in futures, prediction markets, listed derivatives, or related trading/brokerage infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong collaborative abilities.
• Business savvy to navigate trade-offs between stakeholders and technological feasibility within time and budget limitations.
• Background in developing and managing futures, prediction markets, or other listed derivatives products.
• Technical experience working with APIs, especially in the context of financial services or trading platforms.
• NFA Series 3 certification (or the ability to obtain it), or other credentials recognized by CFTC/NFA.
• Experience in launching or operating within an FCM, DCM, DCO, or other regulated derivatives venue.
• Familiarity with portfolio margining, cross-asset margining, institutional execution, or workflows related to Prime Brokerage.
• Experience in a fintech, startup, broker-dealer, FCM, or exchange environment.
• Knowledge of prediction market structures, event-contract design, and the regulatory frameworks governing them.
