Product Engineering Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Greece, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Oversee the daily operations of the API and frontend teams, ensuring they are unblocked, reviewed, and consistently delivering results.

• Establish and uphold a high standard of engineering excellence focused on performance, reliability, and well-structured APIs.

• Take ownership of the technical design for features and the API interface connecting Keet’s core system with the application.

• Collaborate with the API team and deep technical teams on code evaluations, design processes, and engine-related assignments.

• Work alongside Keet product managers to transform vision and roadmap into actionable, buildable tasks.

• Address discrepancies between scope and reality, suggesting improved methodologies.

• Provide engineering insights into product decisions that involve P2P functionalities.

• Assist the team in accelerating progress through the use of AI tools and prototypes.

• Clarify team objectives and establish metrics for success.

• Mentor team leaders and enhance team operational systems and collaboration efforts.

• Model leadership by empowering teams to take ownership of their work.

• Report directly to the CTO and take guidance from product management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience managing engineers or engineering leads who deliver consumer products.

• Ideally possess experience in chat, calling, or social applications.

• Strong understanding of product development.

• Intuitive grasp of distributed and local-first systems.

• Knowledge of offline-first principles and eventual consistency.

• Extensive experience with JavaScript and React.

• Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and resilience.

• Capable of providing and receiving direct feedback.

• Bonus: Familiarity with local-first applications, CRDTs or synchronization engines, offline-capable mobile or desktop applications, or open-source projects.
