Product Engineering Lead, 100% Remote

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Georgia.

📋 Description

• Guide teams in developing QV.AC features and enhancing the application experience utilizing the local AI infrastructure.

• Report directly to the CTO and receive guidance from product leadership.

• Take ownership of engineering execution, technical strategies, and maintaining engineering quality standards.

• Manage day-to-day operations of app and feature teams by removing obstacles, reviewing work, and sustaining delivery progress.

• Establish and uphold benchmarks for performance, reliability, and well-structured APIs.

• Be responsible for the technical design of features and the API interface between the AI core and the application.

• Collaborate with AI research and advanced technology teams on code evaluations, design specifications, models, and inference processes.

• Work alongside product managers to translate vision and roadmaps into actionable, buildable tasks.

• Address discrepancies between project scope and technical feasibility, proposing improved solutions.

• Provide insight on product decisions based on current local model capabilities and constraints.

• Utilize AI tools and rapid prototyping to test and validate concepts.

• Define team objectives and establish success metrics.

• Mentor team leads and enhance team operational systems and collaboration practices.

• Lead by example, balancing hands-on contributions with team ownership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in managing engineers or engineering leads involved in delivering consumer products, preferably AI-driven applications.

• Strong sense of product development.

• Understanding of applied AI and constraints related to on-device operations, such as model size, latency, memory, and battery usage.

• Ability to differentiate between reliable features and mere demonstrations.

• No ML research expertise required.

• Extensive use of AI tools and a keen interest in exploring new models and capabilities.

• Proficient in JavaScript and React.

• Possess initiative, curiosity, resilience, and the ability to give and accept constructive feedback.

• Preferred: experience with local or on-device inference, LLM evaluations, cross-platform mobile and desktop applications, or open-source contributions.

• Excellent communication skills in English.

• Capability to work remotely from an eligible country.
