Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create refined user experiences across React Native, web, iOS, and Android platforms.

• Focus on developing new mobile features using React Native.

• Manage and enhance existing native iOS and Android applications.

• Collaborate closely with a small, agile team to transform user feedback and initial product concepts into swift, intuitive, high-quality experiences.

• Engage across the entire stack as needed, involving APIs, native integrations, debugging, and existing Swift/Kotlin code.

• Work closely with product and design teams.

• Convert vague requirements into deliverable, measurable product enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong engineering skills with a product-oriented mindset and a history of delivering polished consumer-facing experiences.

• Excellent UI/UX judgment with an eye for interaction design, responsiveness, and visual refinement.

• Proficient in React Native, TypeScript, and React, with experience in developing production mobile applications for both iOS and Android.

• Solid modern web development expertise including React, Next.js, Redux Toolkit/RTK Query or SWR, and Tailwind CSS.

• Experience in building and debugging React Native applications on actual iOS and Android devices.

• Familiarity with integrating native device functionalities and platform APIs from React Native, such as deep links, push notifications, authentication, sharing, media, and app lifecycle behavior.

• Working knowledge of native iOS development using Swift, Xcode, Swift Package Manager, UIKit, and iOS app/extension targets.

• Working knowledge of native Android development using Kotlin, Android Studio, Gradle, AndroidX, and the Android application lifecycle.

• Ability to read, debug, and make targeted modifications to existing Swift and Kotlin codebases while either migrating or developing new product features in React Native.

• Experience with API integration, analytics, crash reporting, and media-rich user interfaces.

• Capable of debugging real-device issues related to gestures, WebViews, video playback, navigation, performance, memory, responsive layouts, and platform differences between iOS and Android.

• Familiarity with modern AI-assisted development tools such as Codex, Claude, Cursor, Antigravity, or similar technologies.

• Collaborates effectively with product and design teams and can transform rough requirements into deliverable, measurable product enhancements.

• Experience in migrating or progressively modernizing native iOS/Android applications using React Native.

• Knowledge in building React Native native modules, bridging native SDKs, or working with TurboModules, Fabric, or other components of the React Native native layer.

• Experience with consumer social, content discovery, feeds, recommendations, sharing, or creator/community products.

• Familiarity with analytics and observability tools like Firebase, Segment, Branch, Sentry, Crashlytics, Airbrake, or other similar tools.

• Knowledge of common React Native libraries and patterns for navigation, server state, local persistence, media, gestures, and animation.

• Experience with native networking and media libraries such as Retrofit/OkHttp/Moshi, Alamofire, Kingfisher, Glide/Coil, or similar tools.

• Strong attention to interaction details including gestures, transitions, animations, loading states, empty states, accessibility, and device-specific refinement.

• Experience with App Store and Play Store releases, including signing, provisioning, certificates, builds, and release workflows.

• Familiarity with CI/CD and production deployment tools like Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions, Docker, or similar technologies.

• Comfortable enhancing older native codebases without necessitating a complete rewrite before delivering meaningful product improvements.

• Writes maintainable code and employs suitable testing and quality tools such as React Native Testing Library, Jest, Cypress, XCTest, JUnit/Mockito/Espresso, linting, type checking, and formatting.
