Procurement Support Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Engage daily with supply chain managers, operations teams, and value stream leaders to grasp and prioritize essential supplier parts based on business and site requirements.

• Collaborate directly with procurement to address part issues, secure supplier commitments, and update SAP Mismatch tools along with internal tracking files.

• Work alongside procurement to enhance supplier schedules so they align with MRP needs, and communicate status to operations and supply chain managers.

• Ensure the accuracy of SAP and internal tracking data to enhance visibility of material availability.

• Validate supplier commitments and input updated information into SAP and tracking files.

• Provide daily updates on critical-part status, risks, and any changes.

• Remove internal barriers related to quality inspections, first article reviews, and engineering changes.

• Participate in weekly supply chain, site, and business unit meetings, delivering comprehensive part-status updates.

• Oversee the RAIL process and update EPS and ECS presentations.

• Manage ship-commitment spreadsheets in relation to demand and overdue items.

• Gather and document second- and third-source supplier information while driving open actions.

• Monitor quality notifications, supplier-related issues, and first article inspections to ensure resolutions are met.

• Track open SRI processing times, prioritize issues, and ensure proper follow-up and closure.

• Assist the supply chain team and stakeholders with smaller tasks and ad hoc activities.

• Enhance the turnaround time for problem-part resolutions through proactive coordination.

• Identify risks impacting LRU builds and escalate concerns when necessary.

• Optimize communication processes throughout the supply chain.

• Utilize data-tracking tools to elevate reporting accuracy, forecasting, and decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in procurement and supply chain functions, with a strong understanding of supplier commitments and material requirements.

• A strong customer service orientation with the ability to assist internal stakeholders and respond swiftly to inquiries related to parts.

• Proficiency in data entry and maintaining precise records in tracking tools and enterprise systems such as SAP.

• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with operations and supply chain personnel on a daily basis.

• Skill in identifying and escalating part issues while coordinating resolutions across various teams.

• Capability to manage and update spreadsheets and tracking files, including ship commitments and material status reports.

• Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to manage material and supplier data.

• Experience in aerospace or complex manufacturing environments is advantageous.

• Comfort with multiple data tracking tools and presentation formats, including EPS and ECS.

• Ability to analyze processing times and prioritize issues based on risk and impact.

• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple actions and follow-ups concurrently.

• Attention to detail when monitoring quality notifications, supplier issues, and first article inspections.
