Private Equity Financial Modeler

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Develop financial models from the ground up in Excel for various applications

• Organize assumptions, drivers, and logic while connecting comprehensive model flows, such as cash flow, debt, returns, and scenarios

• Evaluate, troubleshoot, and enhance model precision by pinpointing erroneous assumptions, flawed logic, and potential risks

• Examine interconnections between cash flow, debt, and returns

• Articulate financial logic, decision-making processes, and the rationale behind model functionality

• Convert practical financial concepts into organized outputs

• Assist in training AI systems that focus on financial modeling and decision processes

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–10 years of experience in finance roles with significant modeling exposure, prioritizing Private Equity

• Demonstrated capability to construct complete financial models from a blank spreadsheet in Excel without relying on templates, tools, or AI

• Practical experience in developing comprehensive end-to-end models, including complete LBO models featuring sources & uses, debt schedules, and returns/IRR/MOIC

• Experience in creating decision-influencing models and a thorough understanding of their application in real financial contexts

• Strong attention to detail, model precision, and proficient communication skills in English

• Capacity to clearly articulate work and financial logic in detail

• Experience in Asset-Based Lending modeling, including borrowing base models, advance rates, eligibility, dilution, and collateral-driven lending (preferred)

• Experience in Structured Finance / Asset-Backed Securities modeling, including cash flow waterfall models, tranching, credit enhancement, loss assumptions, and prepayment/default scenarios (preferred)

• Experience in Risk & Portfolio Modeling, including scenario/stress-testing models, loss modeling for default/recovery/exposure, and portfolio-level analysis (preferred)
