Director of Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop AI agents and automation solutions for financial operations, including closing processes, reconciliations, and reporting.

• Educate the finance team on how to create and utilize AI agents and automation tools.

• Lead the finance team and manage the entire finance function comprehensively.

• Ensure clear accountability by assigning specific ownership for each task.

• Perform monthly closing of accounts across various entities, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

• Oversee the transition from cash-based to accrual accounting, covering subscription and refund revenue recognition.

• Maintain synchronization between Stripe and QuickBooks, ensuring the books are prepared for audits.

• Deliver forecasts, cash reports, and SaaS metrics to leadership, including Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), Net Revenue Retention (NRR), and churn rates.

• Collaborate with a US CPA firm on tax-related matters.

• Report directly to the CEO.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in finance.

• Proven experience in leading a team.

• Demonstrated ownership of profit and loss reporting across multiple entities.

• In-depth proficiency in QuickBooks Online.

• Strong understanding of SaaS metrics, including ARR, NRR, and churn.

• Familiarity with Stripe reconciliation and knowledge of US GAAP.

• Experience in developing AI agents and automations for tangible applications using tools like Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor.

• Ability to communicate clearly and simply in both written and spoken English.

• CPA or CA designation is a plus.

• Experience working at a SaaS company with an ARR between $10 million and $50 million is desirable.
