This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Initiate prior authorization requests with insurance providers by submitting the necessary documentation and medical records.
• Follow up on prior authorization requests, supplying additional information as needed, and ensuring timely approvals for medications.
• Communicate the status of prior authorizations and insurance coverage details to patients, support staff, and healthcare providers.
• Maintain precise records of prior authorization requests and interactions with insurance companies.
• Act as a liaison between healthcare providers, patients, and insurance firms to facilitate communication and resolve any issues.
• Protect patient information and secure medical records.
• Respond to both verbal and electronic inquiries for information and assistance.
• Ensure a safe, secure, and healthy work environment in accordance with legal regulations.
• Exhibit knowledge of emergency protocols and assist during crisis situations.
• Uphold client HIPAA rights and maintain confidentiality protections.
• Handle documents efficiently and accurately for filing and scanning purposes.
• Copy, scan, fax, and email information as needed.
• Perform additional relevant responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of one year of experience in a medical office and/or mental health setting is preferred.
• Experience with prior authorization for medications is preferred.
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, and interact effectively with patients in a mental health environment is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate well within a team.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance terms, and billing practices.
• Some experience in healthcare environments or insurance verification is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of working within a clinical setting is preferred.
• Availability from Monday to Friday, 9am–1pm CST.
