Principal Specialist, Commodity Management – Sourcing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Formulate and execute global and regional commodity strategies for Computer Hardware/Software (CHS).

• Discover opportunities to improve sourcing initiatives, supplier partnerships, and customer strategies.

• Investigate emerging CHS technologies and create supplier strategies accordingly.

• Choose, qualify, and oversee strategic suppliers based on quality, delivery, and cost targets.

• Direct contract negotiations, master-term agreements, and pricing strategies.

• Assess supplier performance and initiate corrective measures as needed.

• Collaborate with suppliers on capacity planning, risk management, and ongoing enhancements.

• Develop and implement supplier management strategies, including Grow, Maintain, Reduce, and Exit initiatives.

• Ensure that sourcing choices adhere to aerospace standards, export regulations, and internal policies.

• Identify and address supply chain risks.

• Assist in audits and regulatory assessments.

• Monitor and report on cost savings, cost avoidance, and productivity enhancements.

• Maintain spend analytics and commodity dashboards.

• Promote process improvements throughout sourcing and supplier management operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Generally requires a university degree or equivalent experience along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with at least 3 years of experience.

• At least 3 years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, or relevant Computer Hardware/Software experience within aerospace or a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

• Proficient in negotiation, agreements, and contract management.

• Experience in monitoring supplier performance and implementing corrective actions.

• U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite.

• Preferably possess technical experience in Computer Hardware/Software.

• Background in supplier management, including capacity planning, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement is preferred.

• Project management experience is preferred.

• Familiarity with government contracting, aerospace standards, and export controls is preferred.
