Principal Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Maintain design authority over the deployment patterns of NX1 at the client site.

• Participate actively in architecture review boards, security assessments, and data governance discussions.

• Architect and advocate for the integration framework across the client's data ecosystem.

• Anticipate and identify upcoming workloads that NX1 is ready to support prior to full articulation by the client.

• Create high-quality design documents that withstand critical evaluations in your absence.

• Act as the technical escalation contact for any deployment issues related to NX1 at the client.

• Manage the internal operational rhythm for NX1 on the account.

• Foster and maintain executive-level relationships with both business and IT leadership at the client.

• Convert architectural insights into actionable expansion strategies for Account Executives.

• Lead escalation efforts in the event of system failures.

• Navigate vendor governance processes within a major banking institution.

⛳️ Requirements

• 12–18 years of experience in enterprise data/cloud architecture as a Solutions Architect, principal engineer, or in a similar role.

• At least one previous multi-year embedded role at a Tier 1 bank or a similarly regulated organization.

• Practical experience or recent engagement with the modern open-source data stack: Spark, Trino, Airflow, Iceberg, Kubernetes, S3-compatible object storage, Kafka — at a petabyte scale, managing hundreds of data pipelines.

• Proven experience in developing and defending design documents in front of critical architecture review boards.

• A history of identifying expansion opportunities or new use cases through architectural insights at large clients.

• Willingness to be on-site in Charlotte, NC (primary) and NYC (secondary) with a cadence of 80% or more.

• Extensive knowledge of banking IT culture and governance including risk and control frameworks, Third Party Risk Management (TPRM), change management, audit cycles, and regulatory reporting standards.
