Principal Software Engineer – Health100 Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Establish and take ownership of the technical vision and strategy across cloud, backend, automation, and platform areas.

• Address intricate challenges and drive coordinated execution.

• Act as a senior technical authority for initiatives with significant impact.

• Provide guidance on architecture and influence engineering processes.

• Ensure the delivery of consistent, high-quality results across teams and partnerships.

• Collaborate with engineering leadership, product teams, and the open-source community to define platform direction and roadmaps.

• Shape frameworks and core system architecture.

• Lead solutions from the initial prototype stage through to production.

• Contribute to essential frameworks and components.

• Guarantee performance, security, reliability, and operational preparedness.

• Utilize deep technical judgment while managing conflicting priorities.

• Promote alignment across teams.

• Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry standards.

• Mentor senior engineers.

• Collaborate with product and architecture leaders to make practical design choices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in software development, including hands-on Agile delivery and the creation of enterprise-grade distributed systems.

• More than 5 years of development experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.

• At least 2 years of experience working with Kafka or similar event-driven platforms.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience with cloud computing technologies (GCP, Azure, or equivalent public cloud).

• A minimum of 3 years applying engineering practices for security, resilience, availability, and scalability in production environments.

• Experience with AI or generative AI solutions and technologies.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.

• High school diploma with an additional 4 years of relevant work experience as an alternative to a bachelor's degree.

• Preference for experience within the health, wellness, or pharmacy sectors.

• Contributions to open-source technology or developed patents are preferred.

• Full-stack development skills are preferred.

• Strong collaboration skills across functions are preferred.
