Principal SAP Retail POS Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the main subject matter expert for POS in DoD S/4HANA implementations supporting NAF entities.

• Provide guidance on the design of retail structures for stores, distribution centers, e-commerce channels, and ship stores.

• Design sales and payment processes, including tax-free sales, Military STAR Card, gift cards, and layaway options.

• Offer advice on inventory management and replenishment strategies, such as DSD, cross-docking, and global allocation.

• Ensure precise sales and margin reporting, assist with financial closings, and maintain transaction audit trails.

• Facilitate Fit-to-Standard workshops focused on merchandising, pricing, promotions, and loss prevention.

• Manage functional interfaces among S/4HANA, CAR, e-commerce platforms, WMS, and payment processors.

• Direct master data strategy for article variants, vendors, and customers in loyalty programs.

• Supervise the conversion of legacy sales, inventory, and master data into S/4HANA and CAR.

• Advise client leadership on enhancing operational efficiency, customer experience, merchandising analytics, and store performance.

• Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders by articulating complex system designs.

• Mentor and provide training to functional consultants on military retail operations.

• Identify omnichannel opportunities, including BOPIS and unified customer views.

• Engage in quality assurance and safeguard sensitive information in line with security policies.

• Execute other related tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• At least 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 10 years without a Bachelor's degree.

• Significant experience with large-scale retail systems, ideally SAP Retail, CAR, or S/4HANA for Retail.

• Expertise in retail operations, especially merchandising, store operations, and supply chain within a multichannel retail environment.

• Demonstrated success in major retail system implementations.

• Strong grasp of retail financial concepts, including margin analysis, inventory valuation, and sales auditing.

• Familiarity with NAF entities and military retail operations like NEX, AAFES, and MCX.

• Capability to present intricate retail system designs to executives and business leaders.

• Industry-recognized certification, such as SAP certification in S/4HANA Retail, SAP CAR, or a related SAP Retail area.

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• Must be able to secure and maintain an active government clearance.

• Preferred: Experience with the Military STAR Card program.

• Preferred: Experience in implementing SAP Retail or CAR for a DoD, military exchange, or other federal organizations.

• Preferred: Familiarity with SAP POS Data Management, Omnichannel Promotion Pricing, or SAP Commerce.

• Preferred: Experience with SAP Activate implementation methodology.

• Preferred: A Master's degree in a related field.
