Principal Product Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the execution for the Couchbase Mobile portfolio, which includes Couchbase Lite, Sync Gateway, Capella App Services, and Edge Server.

• Convert product strategy into a comprehensive, sequenced roadmap and lead products through their shipment and adoption phases.

• Develop detailed technical product requirements.

• Collaborate with engineering and design teams.

• Hands-on validation of pre-release features.

• Engage in JIRA, sprint and roadmap reviews, and agile ceremonies.

• Enhance release quality, documentation, and the developer experience.

• Influence support for on-device and edge AI use cases.

• Work closely with customers and prospects to validate use cases and establish requirements.

• Manage live customer escalations and facilitate fixes through engineering.

• Represent Couchbase Mobile in presentations, webinars, and technical content.

• Provide training and positioning support to sales, solutions engineering, and marketing teams.

• Represent the portfolio in cross-organizational planning alongside senior leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in product management.

• More than 3 years of hands-on experience in software development.

• Proven history of executing flawlessly for a mature product or portfolio at scale.

• Strongly preferred experience with distributed systems, databases, or developer platforms.

• A genuine technical/developer background with experience in building or architecting client-side mobile, desktop, or web applications.

• Comfortable with prototyping.

• Practical knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, security, and access control.

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Working knowledge of edge computing and AI concepts pertinent to on-device and edge inference.

• Experience utilizing AI tools in day-to-day product management activities.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in agile development processes and JIRA or equivalent tools.

• Self-motivated, collaborative, and capable of driving alignment across various functions without formal authority.
