Principal Presales Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation of technological solutions that meet the business needs of Federal Government clients.

• Deliver technical guidance and assistance throughout the development of solutions.

• Cultivate and maintain customer relationships to enhance satisfaction and foster long-term engagement.

• Share product and technology knowledge with the sales team during the pursuit of deals.

• Work in partnership with Account Managers and Client Specialists to forge strategic relationships with customers.

• Evaluate current environments and outline future-state architectures.

• Design all-encompassing IT solutions that include hardware, software, services, and as-a-service offerings.

• Lead technical conversations with clients and account teams to understand business requirements and assess existing setups.

• Create and present strategic technology suggestions along with high-level solution designs.

• Coordinate collaboration across cross-functional account teams and engage partners.

• Provide a technical viewpoint to Account Business Planning.

• Track account pipelines and foster opportunities until they close.

• Identify potential for growth within customer accounts.

• Participate in professional communities and attend key events to stay updated on industry trends.

• Mentor colleagues, account managers, and partners as a subject matter expert.

• Share customer and market insights with global business units.

• Monitor the competitive landscape.

• Engage with C-suite executives, VPs, and business leaders to promote strategic technical alignment.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must primarily work from home as a Remote/Teleworker.

• Location: Northern VA, Washington D.C. area, or Maryland.

• TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph clearance is mandatory at the time of hire.

• US citizenship is required.

• 8+ years of technical experience in Enterprise IT, specializing in technical consulting and solution selling.

• 5+ years of experience with AI, cloud software, open source, containers, virtualization, system management, and hardware such as servers, storage, and networking.

• Familiarity with Enterprise IT architecture frameworks and project management methodologies and certifications is beneficial but not essential.

• 2+ relevant industry-standard technology certifications or equivalent experience is highly preferred.

• Experience in technical customer sales and related certifications is preferred, including AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, and/or Google Cloud Architect.

• A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Science/Analytics, or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is required.

• Knowledge of HPE’s solution portfolio is preferred.

• Understanding of federal procurement processes is preferred.

• Experience in leading solution configurations and architecture design is required.

• Proven track record of delivering complex, large-scale, end-to-end technical solutions that align with business goals and budget constraints.

• Technical expertise in high-performance computing, hybrid cloud architectures, and data center technologies, including servers, storage, and networking.

• Capability to translate intricate technical concepts into business-value propositions.

• Proficient in delivering live product demonstrations and technical walkthroughs.

• Skilled in white-boarding, objection management, and formal presentations.

• Ability to identify technical growth opportunities and assist in account expansion.

• Knowledge of the Account Business Planning process is beneficial.

• Proficient in orchestrating cross-functional collaboration among company and partner resources.

• Proven experience in technical mentorship.
