Principal Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Engage in the entire network lifecycle, which encompasses architecture, design, validation, deployment, operations, and ongoing optimization.

• Assist in supporting Autodesk's global network backbone and key infrastructure initiatives.

• Create, uphold, and refine enterprise network standards.

• Collaborate with automation teams to design and execute scalable network operations tools.

• Automate networking processes and create self-service capabilities.

• Oversee and enhance enterprise-scale SASE solutions.

• Take part in organizational planning and discussions regarding technical strategy.

• Establish and maintain relationships with third-party technology vendors.

• Guide team members and encourage knowledge sharing throughout the engineering organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar field, or equivalent professional experience.

• 10–15 years of expertise in routing and switching technologies.

• Familiarity with dark fibre infrastructure and related networking technologies.

• Experience in managing Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) peering relationships.

• Proficiency in designing and supporting networking services for AWS and Microsoft Azure.

• Capability to design, secure, automate, and optimize AWS networking infrastructure.

• Practical experience with AWS Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Lambda, Route 53, and VPC.

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, architecture, and essential technologies, including MPLS, BGP, DNS, and IPsec.

• Understanding of firewall technologies, network security configurations, and troubleshooting techniques.

• Demonstrated experience working in Agile software development environments.

• Excellent presentation skills for articulating technical policies, proposals, and architectural designs.

• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities with a collaborative approach.

• Competence in managing long-term, milestone-driven projects across various teams.

• CCNA certification is preferred.

• CCNP certification is preferred.

• Experience with Python, Ansible, DevOps methodologies, and infrastructure automation is preferred.

• Familiarity with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or comparable infrastructure-as-code platforms is preferred.

• Experience in supporting large-scale enterprise or cloud networking environments is preferred.
