Principal Mechanical Engineer – Building Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee mechanical design and project delivery for significant client initiatives from initial concept to final execution.

• Provide innovative, practical, and cost-efficient solutions for projects with varying sizes, scopes, and complexities.

• Engage in technical evaluations and design assurance processes.

• Ensure that project deliverables adhere to high-quality standards.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

• Contribute to interdisciplinary assessments and overall project results.

• Foster relationships with clients and stakeholders to facilitate successful project execution.

• Mentor and nurture the development of junior engineers.

• Share technical expertise and support the growth of local and national teams.

• Conduct quality control assessments of design calculations, drawings, and technical documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in a Building Services consultancy or substantial senior-level design experience in Mechanical Services.

• Strong technical design background in HVAC and mechanical engineering.

• Proven experience in delivering projects within the defense and/or data center sectors.

• Robust track record in client management, project delivery, and stakeholder engagement.

• Ability to juggle competing priorities while communicating effectively and meeting critical project deadlines.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Australian building services projects, codes, and standards.

• Australian Citizenship is mandatory.

• Previous or current Australian Government defense security clearance is highly valued.
