This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Take ownership of the architecture and technical direction for essential platform domains utilized by both product teams.
• Allocate 60–80% of your time to designing, coding, reviewing, pairing, and debugging in Laravel, Next.js, and cloud environments.
• Spearhead technical discovery and the delivery of high-impact, cross-team initiatives that necessitate architectural changes.
• Define, document, and promote architectural principles, coding standards, as well as scalable, resilient, and observable system patterns.
• Advocate for shift-left testing, CI/CD enhancements, production observability, test design, and validation.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through design reviews, pairing, and constructive feedback.
• Assess and prototype emerging technologies including Vertex AI, GenAI workflows, and data pipelines.
• Represent engineering health during roadmap planning, estimation, and trade-off decisions.
• Collaborate across both product squads on cross-cutting systems and complex technical challenges.
• Partner with Engineering Leadership on long-term architectural strategies and with Tech Leads on execution and engineering practices.
• Report to the Head of Engineering and lead through technical excellence, influence, and mentoring without engaging in direct people management.
• Facilitate platform scalability and stability while aligning technical priorities, resolving system-level challenges, and supporting AI readiness and multi-cloud architecture.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering, including a background as a staff/principal engineer or architect in a SaaS environment.
• Extensive expertise in backend engineering with Laravel (Laravel 10+ and PHP 8+) or comparable languages, SQL/relational databases, caching, and RESTful APIs.
• Strong frontend design and architectural skills with React/Next.js.
• Experience working with scalable and secure cloud infrastructure (AWS required, with CGP as a plus).
• Knowledge of event-driven or modular architectures and containerized environments (e.g., EKS/Kubernetes).
• In-depth understanding of software testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to deliver features rapidly using Copilot, Gemini, test automation, and scaffolding.
• Experience in building AI-enhanced product experiences, including LLM API utilization and prompt design.
• Provide coaching on the integration of GenAI into workflows.

• Set an example in test strategy and validation.
• Manage test coverage, pipeline health, and regression control.
• Nice-to-have experience with Looker, BigQuery, ML pipelines, distributed system performance tuning, Agent AI Architecture, data products, asynchronous workflows, message queues, design systems, frontend architecture, platform engineering, modular monoliths, and AI-driven tools.
