Principal Full Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the architecture and technical strategy for core platform domains utilized by both product squads.

• Allocate 60–80% of your time to designing, coding, reviewing, pairing, and debugging with Laravel, Next.js, and cloud environments.

• Lead the technical discovery and execution of high-impact projects that span team boundaries or necessitate architectural changes.

• Establish, document, and advocate for architectural principles, coding standards, and scalable system patterns.

• Promote shift-left testing, CI/CD enhancements, production observability, test design, and validation.

• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through design reviews, pairing sessions, and constructive feedback.

• Assess and prototype emerging technologies like Vertex AI, GenAI workflows, and data pipelines.

• Facilitate the practical adoption of new technologies within products and platforms.

• Represent technical considerations during roadmap planning, estimation, and trade-off discussions.

• Collaborate across both product squads on cross-cutting systems and complex technical challenges.

• Partner with Engineering Leadership on long-term architectural strategies and Tech Leads on implementation and engineering practices.

• Enhance scalability and stability through effective architectural design.

• Remove obstacles for engineers and elevate overall technical quality.

• Foster alignment on technical priorities and engineering direction.

• Provide guidance to Product and share functional expertise.

• Identify and address system-level challenges.

• Assist in the implementation of platform capabilities such as AI readiness and multi-cloud architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering, including roles as a staff/principal engineer or architect in a SaaS environment.

• Extensive expertise in backend engineering with Laravel (Laravel 10+ and PHP 8+) or similar languages, SQL/relational databases, caching, and RESTful APIs.

• Strong frontend design and architectural experience with React/Next.js.

• Experience with scalable, secure cloud infrastructure (AWS is required, and GCP is a plus).

• Familiarity with event-driven or modular architectures and containerized environments (e.g., EKS/Kubernetes).

• Profound understanding of software testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with Looker, BigQuery, ML pipelines, or distributed system performance tuning is advantageous.

• Familiarity with Agent AI Architecture is a plus.

• Proven feature delivery velocity utilizing Copilot, Gemini, test automation, and scaffolding.

• Experience in building AI-augmented product experiences, including LLM API usage and prompt design.

• Experience mentoring others on incorporating GenAI into workflows.
