This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee the technical direction of intricate legacy system modernization projects from the initial assessment phase through to transition and implementation.

• Evaluate current applications, architectures, dependencies, databases, and business logic to gain insights into legacy environments.

• Develop and strategize transition architectures and modernization approaches, including incremental legacy-system refactoring.

• Facilitate the modernization of database components, encompassing stored procedures and database-dependent application logic.

• Utilize AI tools to analyze codebases and produce technical documentation that supports modernization decisions and engineering execution.

• Implement AI-driven development workflows, including reverse engineering, Spec-Driven Development (SDD), and test creation.

• Convert missions and scope into actionable technical plans, adapting them as information and constraints evolve.

• Take ownership of end-to-end technical delivery while offering direction and structure to the engineering team.

• Assist in architectural decisions, technical analysis, troubleshooting, and implementation processes.

• Relay technical progress, risks, dependencies, and architectural decisions to both technical and client stakeholders.

• Serve as the technical liaison between client stakeholders and the engineering team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in system modernization projects in a technical leadership or architectural role.

• Strong background in planning system transition architectures and defining modernization strategies for complex legacy environments.

• Hands-on experience in refactoring legacy systems, particularly those involving database stored procedures.

• Familiarity with legacy Microsoft IE5 HTCs and DHTML architectures.

• Established experience using AI tools to create high-quality technical documentation from existing codebases under examination.

• Practical knowledge of structured AI-driven software development processes, especially reverse engineering, Spec-Driven Development (SDD), and automated test generation.

• Demonstrated capability to take an initial mission and scope, manage it independently from start to finish, and adapt it for yourself and the engineering team.

• Strong skills in architecture, technical leadership, analytics, and problem-solving.

• Ability to function effectively in complex environments characterized by ambiguity and changing requirements.

• Practical, hands-on experience with Cursor (preferred).

• Experience with software profiling, architecture analysis, or application intelligence tools, such as CAST Imaging (preferred).

• Proficient in business English, able to communicate effectively in both technical and client-facing settings (preferred).

• Experience in preparing and presenting project status reports to technical stakeholders (preferred).

• Capability to project manage and coordinate other engineers while retaining technical ownership (preferred).

• Experience serving as a professional client interface, linking client stakeholders with a fast-paced engineering team (preferred).
