This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Design, create, implement, and maintain core harness components that direct and manage AI coding agents.
• Take ownership of and establish standardized feedforward guides, agent instruction files, reusable skills, architectural guidelines, reference documentation, and codemods.
• Create feedback sensors, including custom linters, static analysis tools, architecture fitness tests, verification loops, and LLM-as-judge reviewers.
• Manage quality gates and release criteria for agent-generated work, encompassing authority boundaries and human escalation protocols.
• Develop LLM testing frameworks and evaluation methods for the quality and safety of AI-generated outputs.
• Utilize consumer and contract testing in scenarios where the reliability of service integration is critical.
• Execute steering loops to avert recurring agent errors and uphold repository knowledge as the definitive record.
• Determine where controls are executed across pre-commit, post-integration, and continuous drift-detection phases.
• Enhance visibility into agent activities and monitor engineering and agent-PR performance metrics.
• Collaborate with product and platform teams to convert specifications and acceptance criteria into enforceable regulations.
• Offer technical guidance and mentor engineers in harness practices and the responsible use of AI tools.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent practical experience in software architecture, design, development, and testing.
• Extensive software engineering background with large, complex codebases.
• Solid foundation in architecture, design, testing, and maintainability.
• Practical experience with AI coding agents like Claude Code, Codex, or similar technologies.
• Proven experience in developing engineering tools across modern technology stacks, including linters, static analysis, CI/CD pipelines, containerized build/test environments, and instrumentation/observability.
• Knowledge of agent instruction conventions such as AGENTS.md.
• Familiarity with specification-driven development, context engineering, agent orchestration, fitness functions, and developer-platform collaboration.
• A systems-oriented mindset with the capability to encode quality standards into mechanical, repeatable rules.
• Sound judgment in choosing deterministic computational controls versus inferential LLM-based controls, with an understanding of cost, speed, and reliability trade-offs.
• Experience in managing quality-gating processes and establishing release criteria.
• Working knowledge of autonomous agent security, including prompt injection, tool/permission scoping, sandboxed execution, audit trails, and least-privilege guardrails.
• Familiarity with consumer/contract testing methodologies such as Pact.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey designs to architects and drive standards across teams.
• An inclusive culture that embodies FICO’s core values.
• Opportunities for professional development and enriching learning experiences.
• Competitive salary, benefits, and rewards programs.
• A focus on work/life balance.
• Access to employee resource groups.
• Participation in social events.
