This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +35 more states.
• Direct cross-functional teams in the design, implementation, and optimization of Banner Health’s multi-cloud infrastructure encompassing Azure, AWS, and OCI.
• Assist in steering the long-term cloud strategy to ensure scalability, security, resiliency, and cost-efficiency.
• Guide cloud adoption and migration efforts, elevate cloud maturity, enhance performance, implement best practices, and spearhead cloud-based innovation.
• Counsel IT partners and business units to guarantee successful solution delivery on cloud platforms.
• Offer strategic and technical guidance for multi-cloud environments as well as for cloud architecture and governance initiatives.
• Design, develop, and supervise platform engineering service offerings.
• Provide thought leadership in cloud-native technologies, DevOps, platform engineering, automation, and observability.
• Establish and maintain secure cloud connectivity utilizing AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, Oracle FastConnect, or Google Cloud Interconnect.
• Integrate cloud solutions with on-premises infrastructure.
• Oversee disaster recovery and response strategies for cloud outages, security incidents, and other emergencies.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, architecture diagrams, disaster recovery plans, and execute gap analyses.
• Create proof of concepts and innovative production service offerings.
• Design and implement automation tools for efficient deployment of cloud services.
• Lead and mentor cloud engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• A minimum of 15 years in software engineering, digital engineering, and application modernization.
• At least 5 years of experience in designing and developing cloud and microservices at scale.
• Proven experience in optimizing Kubernetes-deployed workloads on cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with AI development tools.
• Experience in leading peers to deliver enterprise solutions.
• Knowledge of platform operating models and product-driven digital engineering.
• Practical experience in designing and scaling digital applications on cloud platforms, ideally AWS and Azure.
• Experience with large-scale cloud migrations and modernization projects.
• Preferred professional-level certifications in public cloud platforms.
• Strongly desired experience in Healthcare Information Technology.
• In-depth knowledge of at least one cloud provider among Google, AWS, and Azure, along with working knowledge of other cloud services.
• Experience with optimizing cloud costs.
• Familiarity with relevant coding, scripting, software development, database, CI/CD, container, observability, security, and work-management tools and platforms.
