Principal Enterprise Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the technical vision for scalable, high-performance, and cost-effective systems.

• Define contemporary architectural patterns that facilitate growth, high transactions per second (TPS), and effortless scaling.

• Design and enhance multi-tenant SaaS platforms for configurability and optimal performance.

• Develop self-service functionalities including workflow designers, rules engines, and reporting tools.

• Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing cloud cost-efficiency across infrastructure, model execution, and compute resources.

• Collaborate with AWS Support and Solution Architects to improve infrastructure and cloud functionalities.

• Architect distributed data-processing pipelines for both batch and real-time workloads.

• Optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing layers.

• Enable self-service data capabilities for analytics, machine learning, and real-time business applications.

• Ensure data governance, security, and compliance standards are met.

• Guide engineering teams on best practices for architecture and pragmatic execution.

• Mentor teams on microservices, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native patterns.

• Create technical prototypes and proofs of concept to validate architectural choices.

• Advocate for the adoption of GenAI, large language models (LLMs), and agentic workflows throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Establish AI guidelines and self-service AI capabilities while ensuring cost and performance optimization.

• Lead the Jumio Architecture Review Council to promote cross-functional architectural alignment.

• Set and enforce architectural standards across product teams.

• Facilitate architectural reviews, identify technical debt, and drive strategic coherence.

• Make informed decisions regarding complex architectural trade-offs.

• Mentor engineering leadership on architectural best practices and standardized decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of hands-on experience in system architecture, data engineering, cloud engineering, or technical leadership roles.

• Proven experience with multi-tenant architectures and configurable SaaS platforms.

• Extensive hands-on expertise with AWS, including EKS, IAM, Lambda, and networking.

• Professional experience with GCP is a significant advantage.

• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, and caching strategies.

• Practical knowledge of AI/ML model execution, inference performance, cost considerations, and optimization.

• Proficient in high-scale transactional systems.

• Familiarity with Terraform, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Docker.

• Expertise in Java; strong skills in Python; knowledgeable in JavaScript/TypeScript and Kotlin.

• Experience leading architectural review processes and promoting engineering standards.

• Expertise in integrating GenAI and ML methodologies into the software development lifecycle.

• Capability to manage strategic stakeholders and conduct complex financial/TCO analyses for enterprise technology.

• Experience with high-volume, real-time data processing and distributed streaming architectures is a plus.

• Experience in building petabyte-scale distributed data platforms is a plus.

• Familiarity with fraud prevention, identity verification, or authentication technologies is a plus.
