Principal Enterprise Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +10 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop and articulate a comprehensive architectural vision for DTC commerce and artificial intelligence.

• Define and enforce governance policies and standards for architecture across various brands and regions.

• Establish a review process for AI use-case approvals, risk assessment, and production readiness.

• Create and maintain a multi-year architecture roadmap for DTC and AI initiatives.

• Oversee the target architecture for ecommerce, order management systems (OMS), inventory orchestration, payment solutions, customer data platforms (CDP), loyalty programs, content management, search functionalities, personalization, marketplaces, and fulfillment processes.

• Advocate for MACH principles and a composable commerce architecture.

• Modernize legacy commerce and integration systems into cloud-based, API-driven architectures.

• Define the enterprise AI reference architecture and a shared AI platform.

• Implement responsible AI controls addressing safety, privacy, data residency, model risk, and regulatory compliance.

• Define integration patterns that are API-first and event-driven.

• Oversee data architecture and governance related to DTC and AI.

• Collaborate with executive leadership and senior stakeholders to establish architectural priorities.

• Lead and mentor architects, engineers, and AI practitioners.

• Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for DTC architecture and AI initiatives.

• Report on progress to senior management while keeping an eye on emerging technologies and industry trends.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

• Over 8 years of experience in enterprise or solution architecture within the retail, fashion, or consumer goods sectors.

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in architecting AI and machine learning solutions, including generative AI and large language model applications in production environments.

• Extensive knowledge of DTC ecommerce, order management, customer data, and integration processes.

• Proven track record with MACH and composable commerce architecture, microservices, API integration, cloud-native environments, and integration platform as a service (iPaaS) solutions like Boomi.

• Experience managing large-scale transformation projects, modernizing commerce platforms, and implementing AI adoption programs.

• Proven ability to support global products and collaborate with technical and global business stakeholders.

• Experience evaluating AI and commerce vendors and platforms.

• Familiarity with the retail or fashion industry and understanding the consumer journey from discovery to service.

• Extensive knowledge of multi-cloud computing, with AWS as a requirement.

• Strong understanding of AI and machine learning architecture, including large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agents, vector databases, model evaluation, MLOps, LLMOps, guardrails, and responsible AI practices.

• Proficiency in ecommerce platforms, OMS, CDP, loyalty programs, personalization, and payment systems.

• Strong background in data architecture, data governance, and large-scale data processing.

• Proficiency in enterprise integration and interoperability, including Oracle EBS, PLM, and PIM systems.

• Ability to produce reference architectures, decision records, and solution blueprints.
