Principal Engineer, Software Development & Production Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Address intricate challenges related to distributed systems on a global scale.

• Expand our production infrastructure and architecture worldwide utilizing Kubernetes, GCP, and AWS.

• Employ Go to create and manage highly scalable, resilient backend services.

• Build the internal tools essential for monitoring, alerting, and optimizing our active production environment.

• Architect & Build: Create high-scale developer tools, dynamic testing environments, and CI/CD pipelines within a fully modern, containerized microservices ecosystem.

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Treat infrastructure as a primary focus by defining and managing complete ephemeral environments through declarative IaC (Terraform).

• Recognize and remove systemic bottlenecks throughout the development lifecycle via architectural modifications, advanced tooling, and near-real-time telemetry processing.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–10+ years of relevant experience in high-scale infrastructure, production engineering, systems architecture, or developer platform positions.

• Over 7 years of experience in at least one backend programming language (e.g., Go, Python, Java, C++, C#, or Rust).

• More than 5 years of extensive expertise in building and troubleshooting systems that involve CAP theorem trade-offs, eventual consistency, and distributed tracing.

• Strong experience with AWS or GCP and managing Kubernetes clusters.

• In-depth knowledge of Linux internals, process management, resource isolation, and networking protocols (OSI model, load balancing, service meshes).

• A demonstrated history of accurately estimating complex tasks, debugging distributed architectures through logs/traces, and proactively identifying design edge cases.
