This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of implementing the data strategy for a comprehensive enterprise data platform, ensuring daily operations align with overarching strategic objectives.
• Collaborate with upstream source-system teams and business data owners, overseeing handoffs, ingestion readiness, and the establishment of shared metadata standards.
• Lead the management of the data supply chain, encompassing source onboarding, ingestion, and transformation processes.
• Spearhead a multi-phase program aimed at enhancing metadata maturity.
• Oversee the governance of data promotion through tiered catalog layers, including raw, source, and trusted data.
• Define and implement criteria for data admission, promotion, and certification.
• Establish and uphold data quality standards across the platform.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and AI/platform teams to facilitate self-service analytics and AI applications.
• Develop and monitor metrics related to data quality, metadata coverage, and the promotion/certification cycle time.
• Prioritize remediation initiatives based on quality and metadata metrics.
• Convey updates on strategy progress, risks, and dependencies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including leadership from clients.
• Engage in Agile/SAFe planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
• Execute other relevant tasks as qualified and trained.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to coordinate multiple stakeholder teams and data owners within complex, multi-system environments.
• Experience in leading or owning the data strategy for a large, multi-source enterprise data platform.
• Familiarity with designing and managing metadata governance or maturity programs, including cataloging, ownership models, and promotion/certification criteria.
• Experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, or similar technologies.
• Proficient in metadata/catalog tools like Unity Catalog, Collibra, Alation, AWS Glue Data Catalog, or Microsoft Purview.
• Skilled in defining and enforcing data quality standards, including completeness, conformance, freshness, and defect tracking.
• Working knowledge of distributed data processing concepts and proficiency in SQL, Python, or Scala.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, including the capacity to translate technical data concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Professional certification in a cloud or data platform, data governance, or Agile delivery methodology.
• Required to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
• Required to obtain a U.S. Federal Government client badge.
