Principal Cyber Security Engineer – Agentic Identity and Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design and implement agent identity security features across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid infrastructures.

• Utilize relevant standards and frameworks, and create prototypes for credential brokering, token exchange, delegation, workload identity, and lifecycle management.

• Recognize high-value MVPs for complex security and identity challenges.

• Quickly prototype solutions, validate them with partner teams, and refine them towards production-ready services.

• Develop reusable skills, CLI tools, APIs, and integration frameworks to facilitate secure agent identity adoption.

• Collaborate with teams in Enterprise Security, Product Security, Enterprise AI, Enterprise Product, and platform sectors.

• Contribute to the architectural vision, conduct reviews, and uphold engineering standards.

• Assess emerging standards, open-source technologies, and vendor capabilities.

• Convert relevant technologies into practical internal implementations and roadmap guidance.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• Over 15 years of experience in software engineering, security engineering, identity, distributed systems, or related fields, including substantial hands-on technical leadership.

• Established track record of framing complex problem areas, defining MVPs, quickly prototyping, and transforming ideas into robust production systems.

• Proficient in software engineering, including the development of backend services, APIs, automation, or platform components within programming environments.

• Ability to rapidly acquire new languages, frameworks, and tools as necessary.

• Background in offensive security, adversarial thinking, red teaming, or attack-path analysis.

• Experience with device trust, endpoint posture, or hardware-backed trust signals.

• Capacity to work across organizational boundaries, balancing security with usability and adoption, while driving pragmatic technical outcomes through influence.

• Practical experience with Docker, containerd, or similar container technologies.

• Hands-on experience with network infrastructure, including proxies, routing, firewalls, and VPNs.

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.

• Solid understanding of OAuth 2.0/2.1, OIDC, SCIM, mTLS, SPIFFE, MCP, AuthZen, certificate lifecycle management, and secrets management.

• Strong instincts in full-stack or software engineering.

• Experience with agentic or AI-adjacent systems.

• Awareness of AI-specific security risks such as prompt injection, tool misuse, unauthorized access expansion, data exfiltration, or unsafe delegation patterns.
